Legging keeps coming back with new looks

Leggings is one piece of garment that never ceases to evolve. The staple of every girl’s and even woman’s cabinet it will be a wardrobe disaster if you happen to belong to the xx chromosome category and don’t own a pair of it. Just like a man’s evolution, here we will trace this tight fitting garment’s journey through fashion.
The tight, leg hugging leggings that used to come in plain coloured viscose pants were a huge rage a while ago. It started with a simple black rayon material that had most girls wanting to flaunt their spindly or not so spidery legs.
Of course black couldn’t be the only ones to suit youngster’s needs and so entered the coloured ones. The rayon material leggings that was available in bright, fluorescent colours was a perfect stable clothing for any mix ‘n’ match tops and blouses.
But that was thrown out of vogue, thanks to the denim leggings. Slick and its close resemblance to the skinny jeans, this cousin of denims gave the delight of having to fit all those who were distraught at not having to fit into a pair of skinny jeans.
Celebrities added a whole new flavour to it by sporting bold animal printed skinny fittings. Leopard spots and tiger stripes were so hot. And the mortals had to follow the suit, right? And that is how that became a hot trend.
This season’s latest trend seems to be the elegantly block printed, cotton legging. There are multi-coloured ones that suit the printed or embellished kurtis very well. But if you are strictly the viscose-comfort-seeking addicts then don’t step into the cotton.
